description

The V8 speaker is the most compact one of our V lineup. Typical use cases are small to medium sized locations with demand for a unobstrusive sound system.

The case is built of 12mm multiplex board and is coated with a scratch-resistant textured paint. The asymmetric housing shape allows the speaker to be used as a stage monitor. Multiple M10 threads enable a swiveling mount in both upright and side mounted configurations in a bracket. A carrying handle embedded in the back is used for transport.

The drivers consist of an 1 ”tweeter on a 90 by 70 degree CD horn, and an 8 ”Bass-midrange driver. The coupling of the individual systems is done using a passive crossover with phase and frequency response correction. The entire system shows a flat frequency response and uniform phase profile. The speakers are protected with a powder coated perforated grille with acoustic foam beneath it.

As an addition we offer the Concert Audio VB subwoofers. These are coupled using our latest digital amplifiers and specially adapted presets included in the Concert Audio system rack. A standard amplifier is sufficient for operation without a subwoofer.

tender text

The speaker system has to combine outstanding sound performance and great workmanship with economic pricing. It must enable transmission of music and speech signals with high sound pressure and clearly defined beam angles in high fidelity audio quality.

The housing, which is coated with scratch-resistant textured paint, is to be constructed from 12 mm birch multiplex according to the bass reflex principle and should be asymmetrical. It must be possible to use the system as a stage monitor. Five recessed M10 threads are intended to enable swivel mounting in the optional crossbar or upright bracket. A handle recess in the top of the rear wall should be attached for transport. With a screw-on upright flange it should be possible to place the system upright on standard speaker stands. A 1” dome tweeter on a 90 by 60 degree waveguide horn and an 8” woofer are to be used as acoustic transducers. The individual systems are coupled to one another via the internal passive crossover, which should have a phase and frequency response correction. The overall system should therefore have a very flat frequency response and a uniform phase profile without jumps. All frequencies are to be transmitted at an almost identical level and with a uniform transit time. A standard amplifier must suffice for operation. Special system controllers or processors should not be necessary. The loudspeakers are to be mechanically protected by a removable, all-round powder-coated grille, which is backed with acoustic foam.

Optional subwoofer systems, which can be actively coupled, should be available for expanding the bass reproduction. The active coupling is to take place with a digital DSP amplifier with factory presets, which has been coordinated by the loudspeaker manufacturer and which can provide, in addition to the crossover function, peak and RMS limiter, all-pass filter, delay and equalizer circuits for fine equalization.
